I have been thinking a lot about how to get through to people over the last couple of weeks. I view what is happening in Gaza as teetering on the brink of genocide, and I believe that Israel’s brutal, racist regime of apartheid must be dismantled before there will ever be peace. The governments of both the UK and the US, the two countries I call home, are assisting the state of Israel in this atrocity.
I have spent many hours arguing with people on Facebook, making posts to try to let people know what is going on over there. To make them aware of not just Hamas propaganda, but Israeli propaganda.
I want people especially to know that calling for a ceasefire, taking a stand against ethnic cleansing, genocide and the merciless slaughter of children doesn’t make you antisemitic.
It is critical for the people in Gaza and the West Bank that the international community pressure Israel to stop this campaign of death and destruction.
I bought this domain in September after one of Suella’s hideous episodes – so much has happened that I can’t remember which bit of hate was the catalyst. I offered my 13 year old £50 to build a website that was just a picture of Suella Braverman, along with the functionality to throw tomatoes at her*. Unfortunately, she didn’t get around to it before Suella was fired last month**.
So, I will use this space to collect my thoughts, to communicate with friends and family who might be convinced that staying quiet is the moral position, and to figure out myself what the best use of my time and resources is to actually make a difference.
* throwtomatoesatsuellabraverman.com does not advocate throwing physical tomatoes or other acts of violence.
** If you would like the experience of throwing virtual tomatoes at Suella Braverman, I recommend this Chrome plugin, complete with sound effects.
